Zusammenfassung:	The grinding machine has an electric motor (1) coupled via a conversion drive (52,54) to a driven grinding spindle (58) fitted with a grinding disc (60). The direction of rotation of the grinding spindle is reversible via a rotation direction selection switch (10), with blocking of the direction reversal until the spindle has stopped rotating in the previous direction. The grinding disc is fitted to the spindle via a coupling (65,70,75) which remains secure independent of the direction of rotation of the spindle, the rotation direction reversal effected via a reversible electric motor or by a switched conversion drive.
