Zusammenfassung: | Powered (54) brushes (20,25) carried by the main body float freely and contactably over the surface being cleaned and the brushes can rotate freely relative the support (22) and move up and down vertically parallel to the support or be angled to this via tee rails (42,3) and slots. The brushes are designed as inter-meshing spur gears (25) whose adjacent teeth engage for conjoint movement. The cleaning soln is held in a container and passed to a chambered trough assembly (71A-71D) arranged above the brush group. Each brush has it own cup whence the soln falls down onto the carpet below. The trough is mounted in the support crossbar (22). The motorised blower produces the air power and the machine can be switched over from carpet to e.g. upholstery cleaning, using first and second air powered turbines for carpet and upholstery modes respectively, assisted by a pair of switching valves whose control linkage closes the first when the second is open and vice versa. |
