Zusammenfassung:	The seat adjustment device has a switch (8) for controlling the automatic seat adjustment via at least one setting element (5), e.g. an electric setting motor. A control device (7) controls the setting rate of the setting element in dependence on the operating duration of the switch. The rate of adjustment of the setting element may be altered in stages each time the operating duration of the seat adjustment switch reaches a corresponding threshold.
