Improving cellulose solubility in water-containing amine oxide(s)

Preparation of cellulose with improved solubility in water-containing amine oxides is effected by treating water-dispersed pulp with cellulitic enzymes, especially with cellulase (Aspergillus niger) and/or xylanase (Trichoderma viride).
