Zusammenfassung:	In a process for manufacturing steel reinforced elastomeric products a steel insert(1) is combined with one or more spacers(2) made of an inert, preferably corrosion resistant material, which are used to locate and hold the insert in a moulding tool cavity while the elastomer is fed into the latter and surrounds both the insert and spacer. The claimed steel reinforced elastomer component has a plastic spacer(2) which is attached to the steel insert(1) by clamping, clipping, welding or bonding.
