Production of taxanes useful as anti=tumour agents

Process for production of taxanes, in particular taxol, comprises hydroculture of plants of the Taxus genus in a medium containing a maximum of 30 mu Mol/l phosphate, periodically or continually aerated, harvesting the root growth and extraction of this material with methanol.
