Smooth, wound stator for electric machines

The stator (1) has one or more lateral surfaces running parallel to the air-gaps to the rotor (3). The side surfaces are formed without slots. The stator has electrically conductive stator windings (11). The arrangement has one or more fixing means (7). These are attached to the sides (5) of the stator (1) furthest from the air gaps and/or those not running parallel thereto, such that they can bring the stator windings (11) into engagement. The fixing means (7) may be realised as locking elements set into the stator sides (5) and/or rod or hook elements protruding from the stator sides. The stator may also have one or more holding bores or recesses set into the sides (5) to receive and fasten the fixing means (7).
