Zusammenfassung:	The dashboard has an instrument panel mounted in a recess (2) in the dashboard. A shutter (7, 8) which is flush with the dashboard covers the recess designed so that it can be moved into a position which provides a clear view of the instrument panel. The shutter can be pivoted upwards to expose the instrument panel and the recess can be formed by a tunnel contiguous with a lower section of the windscreen. The instrument panel can be a part of a multi-functional instrument or part of a projection surface on to which information is projected.
