Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an ultrasonic transducer for distance warning devices in vehicles. Such transducers must be provided with damping structures to be protected from disturbances. The present invention proposes a damping body of silicon foam which acts through a stopper under pre-stress against the piezo-oscillator (3) and the floor (2) of the resonator shell. Another possible damping measure is to cast the otherwise metal resonator shell from a suitable plastic or to coat a drawn metal shell with a sufficient plastic layer at the appropriate points.
