Zusammenfassung:	A portable telephone includes a housing having a first opening (54) for insertion of a large card, a second opening (56) for insertion of a small card, a printed wiring board unit, an acceptor (46) juxtaposed to the printed wiring board unit for receiving either the large card or the small card, and a contact assembly (68) for electrically connecting the large card or the small card received by the acceptor (46) to the printed wiring board unit. Thus, either a large card or a small card can be received by the acceptor (46). An inserted small card is positioned by guides (76, 78, 80, 82).
