Zusammenfassung: | Organic electroluminescent device comprises a hole transport layer (A) and luminescent layer (B) which are located between two conductive layers (C) acting as electrodes. (A) contains an aromatic amine of formula (I) as starburst molecule, where Ar - Ar = 6-20C aryl, preferably phenyl, alpha- or beta-naphthyl, anthracenyl, phenanthrenyl, pyrenyl or perylenyl, optionally substituted with one or more groups R; and R = 1-18C alkyl, halogen, CN, prim., sec. or tert. amino, 6-18C aryl, (aryl)alkoxy, aryloxy, (aryl)alkylthio or arylthio A proviso is that at least one of Ar - Ar is a polycyclic aromatic system, preferably alpha- or beta-naphthyl, anthracenyl or phenanthrenyl. A similar organic electroluminescent device containing more than one layer (A), each of which contains an organic compound, is also claimed. An electron transport layer (D) is located between (B) and the cathode (C1). A multilayer composite (E) consisting of three thin (B)/(D) layers is located between (D) and the first layer of (A), for generating white light. Pairs of dielectric spacer layers (F) and dielectric mirrors (G) having a thickness of lambda /4, lie between the transparent anode (C2) and the glass substrate layer (H). |
