The cross-member (5) passes through the interior of the printing cylinder (3), and is detachable from the frame sidewalls (1,2). The ends of the cylinder are supported via bearings (8) on the cross-member. Thrust bearings (18,19,20) can also be provided between the cylinder and cross-member, which can be secured in mountings (7) screwed to the sidewalls. - In the radial direction, these can be of larger dimensions than the member, allowing its extraction in the axial direction. Each mounting can comprise a ring enclosing the member, fitting in a recess in the sidewall and screwed detachably to it and the member.
