Zusammenfassung:An electrical connector has two groups of contact elements (2) each consisting of two arrays (2a, 2b and 2c, 2d). The housing provides access on one side for wires and pins on the other side. Within the housing and on the centreline are guide slots that receive mechanical interlocking keys (30, 44). The keys are inserted from opposite sides and projecting studs (48) on the keys run in angled guide slots (22). This causes the keys to move transversely and in so doing the edges overlap the connector contact elements to secure them in the coupled state.
