Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Prodn. of Bisphenol A (BPA) with a purity of more than 99.95 wt% and a Hazen colour no. of less than 5 from the soln. obtd. by reaction of acetone and phenol in presence of sulphonic acid ion exchange resins (opt. modified with mercaptoamines and/or thiazolidines and/or thiocarboxylic acids) is new. The process comprises (a) adjusting the concn. of the phenolic soln. to 10-40 wt.% p,p-BPA at 60-80 degrees C, (b) transferring the opt. inertised soln. to a series of 4 columns for (c) removal of water and residual acetone, and opt. phenol, by distn., (d) concn. to 70-97 wt% p,p-BPA at the bottom of the second column, (e) purification by removing high-boiling and non- volatile components and (f) sepn. of entrained low-boiling components and residual phenol, and (g) working up the p,p-BPA melt from the bottom of column 4 in the usual way.
