Zusammenfassung:	Prepn. of a isobenzofurandione cpd. (I) comprises catalytic dehydrogenation of a distilled tetrahydroisobenzofurandione cpd. (II) at elevated temp. in the presence of a supported palladium and/or platinum catalyst and maleic and fumaric acid derivs. (III) in a trickling or sump phase process at 120-300 degrees C. In the sump phase process, the temp. is allowed to rise at a rate of 0.6-3 degrees C/min above 80-110 degrees C.
