Zusammenfassung:A coating system comprises a source (20) of electrically non-insulative coating material, a dispenser (22), an electrostatic high potential supply (84), means for coupling the high potential supply across the dispenser (22) and an article (86) to be coated, a reservoir (52), and a valve (36). The valve (36) has a housing providing five ports, and a component movable within the housing having a passageway (82) which selectively connects the various ports. A source (99) is provided for an electrically non-conductive solvent. The housing and the movable component define between them a second passageway, and the source of solvent is coupled to port (100) to provide a flow of the solvent through the second passageway to flush coating material from surfaces of the housing and movable component exiting from port (102).
