Zusammenfassung:In a transformer used as a current limiter, a current to be limited in the event of a fault flows through the primary coil (2) and a superconducting ring (3) is provided as the secondary coil and cooled in a cooling vessel (4) to below the transition temperature of the high-temperature superconductor. It is proposed that the superconductor should be deposited as a thin ring-shaped layer (3) onto a carrier cylinder (5) to form a composite body (7) with said cylinder.
