Snap-action electromechanical switch e.g. for motor vehicle door lock

The snap-action electrical switch has a pair of fixed contacts 8,9 and in between is located a movable contact on a leaf spring carrier 10. The end of the carrier engages a curved leaf spring element 13 that is captive between this and a spring lever 12. The spring lever is engaged by a push- button actuator 22 which when depressed causes the complex spring arrangement to displace the movable contact to a point where a dead centre position is passed through and the spring force then inverts to cause full change over of the contacts with a snap action.
