Zusammenfassung:Weld quality is determined during the welding process involving a power/current source (22), a welding electrode, a base plate (26) and an electric circuit. The method includes the following steps: (a) sampling of a signal produced by the electrical circuit; (b) determination of the standard deviation of this signal over a given period; (c) comparison of the standard deviation with a first predetermined limit, and stopping of the welding process if this limit is exceeded; (d) comparison of the standard deviation with a second predetermined limit below the first limit, and continuation of the welding process if this limit is exceeded.
