Vorrichtung zur Extrusion von Suspensionen

A novel unit continuously and repeatedly extrudes a constant volume of suspension. The piston (2) reciprocates slowly in the cylinder (1), the contents forced through an element (3) of the cylinder head. Described as a filter for convenience, it actually modifies the size of the vesicles in the suspension, to achieve a desired narrow size distribution. Extrudate continues along the recycle channel (4) to the back of the piston. It is confined under pressure by the spring-loaded, fully sealed plate (6), penetrated by the piston rod (7). During the return stroke, the relief channel (10) is open, allowing flow back into the head volume (11). Hence continuous recirculation occurs.
