Sound absorbing wall element for noise protection walls

The wall element (1) comprises a support plate (2) which has shaped back grips (5) propped on at least two opposing flat boundary edges. Panel-beds (6) are located on the edges of the support plate as well as the under-section (7) of a cover plate (3), to form a keyed-grip. The panel-beds between the support plate and the cover plate have at least one significant absorption layer (4). The wall element (1) may have reinforcement (8) arranged in the support plate in the vicinity of the shaped back grips. The under-sections on the opposing sides of the cover plate can be double wedged, and the shaped back grips can be adapted to fit on to the support plate. Ideally, against the wall face of the support plate, vertically-oriented protrusions (10) and depressions (11) may be present on the cover plate.
