Viscometer for determn. of limit of flow of e.g. fat or thickened liq

The viscometer has a pivotally mounted rod (8) with a plate (9) at its end is dipped in the liq. (2). The rod is supported on a spike (4) at a point (7) above its centre of mass (S), and balanced by a counterweight (11) screwed on to a threaded spindle (10) at the top. A pointer (12) at the end of the spindle moves over a graduated scale (13) as the slope ( alpha ) of the rod varies. The instrument rotates about the point of support until it comes to rest automatically. In the rest position, the indicated angle is a measure of the flow limit of the liq.
