In Example (1) the dimethyl cyclohexylamine salt of diethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether phosphate (1 p.b.w.) is added as brightener to a white paint consisting of a long oil linseed alkyd binder (57À5 p.b.w.), TiO 2 (35 p.b.w.), Co- Pb-Mn naphthenate (1 p.b.w.), and white spirit (7 p.b.w.). Examples (3) and (4) relate to stoving varnishes based on an alkyd resin derived from maleic acid and synourin oil and containing Co- Ba-Zn octoate drier, in which the additive is (3) that of Example (1), and (4) the dimethyl cyclohexylamine salt of ethylene glycol monoacetate phosphate.
