Zusammenfassung: | 1281928 Wells &c SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 7 Aug 1969 [9 Aug 1968] 39633/69 Heading E1F In a method of working on a well, perforations 19, 20, 21 are formed in a producing interval 12 by a perforator set on an index 15, a straddle packer assembly 18 is lowered on to the index so that apertures 19a, 20a and 21a communicate with perforations 19, 20, 21 respectively, and an aperture control means 28 having an opening 34 is extended into the straddle packer so that the opening 34 is aligned with a predetermined level of the packer. The means for positioning the aperture control means comprises a member 35 which may have collet fingers and associated locks, and which is engageable in one of a plurality of annular grooves 26a - 26f formed on a lower part 22 of the straddle packer. By engaging the member 35 in the appropriate groove, the opening 34 may be aligned (a) below the perforations 19, 20, 21 for testing the equipment, (b) with an individual set of perforations for treatment thereof or (c) above the perforations for circulating fluid in the annulus between a drill pipe 30 and the casing 13. The aperture control means may have a plurality of openings for alignment with a plurality of perforation levels. After testing and treating are complete, the aperture control means is replaced by a production seal assembly 36, Fig. 5 having ports such as 38, 39, 40, aligned with selected apertures in the packer corresponding to producing perforations. For selective re-treatment e.g. in underwater wells, a further aperture control means may be run through production tubing into the production seal assembly. |
