Irregular material vol. measurement using variable vol. system - operates by balancing pressure with and without material in place

An appts. (1) is used for determining the vol. of an irregulator material by varying the vol. of a hermetically sealed system to produce a given pressure variation. It enables simple and high accuracy measurements. A first pressure is set up in an elastic bellows system (50) sealed in the variable vol. system hermetically sealed by a second press. The second pressure is varied until the bellows extension indicates pressure balance. The system vol. change is measured. The volume change required for press balance is measured with the unknown vol. in the system. This vol. is derived from the press and vol. measurements.
