In Example (1) C 8-10 alkenes obtained by partial hydrogenation of cracked paraffins are reacted with carbon monoxide and water in the presence of phosphoric acid and boron trifluoride, and the resulting acids transesterified with vinyl acetate in the presence of mercury phosphate.
