[Also in Division C3] A tobacco product comprises a tobacco section and a filter section consisting of aggregates of united particles of a thermoplastic resin (as specified below), the union of the particles defining a capillary pore system in which the pores are interconnected within each aggregate and extend to the surface of the aggregate. The thermoplastic resin comprises one or more of polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl butyral, polyethylene, a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate, propylene, or an alkyl ester of maleic acid, or a terpolymer of vinyl chloride, an acrylic ester and a methacrylic ester. The filter material may contain a plasticizer stabilizer and/or flavouring agent and may be in the form of rods, discs, strips or sheets. |
