A spun yarn of synthetic continuous filaments is crimped in a process comprising knitting the yarn into a tubular structure, which is dyed and unravelled, the resultant yarn being then stretched and false-twist crimped. The process is stated to be suitable for producing elastic yarns from filaments of polyester, polyamide, or polyacrilonitrile.
