Nuclear reactor safety vessel with the pres - sure reduction system

Liquid-cooled nuclear reactor has a safety vessel of a spherical steel or concrete pressure shell with a pressure reduction system having a cylindrical condensation chamber with a toroidal bottom, inside which is arranged a pressure vessel with an axial biological shield. The upper toroidal bottom is provided with bushed condensation tubes reaching into water. The walls exposed to pressure are concrete lined. The toroidal bottoms are fitted with pressure struts coupled to the toroidal bottoms at the sphere wall and the inner cylinder via a K section. The lower end of the condensation tubes are provided with stays with baffle sheets.
