Zusammenfassung: | Water-repellent fibres grafted with silicone resins are obtained by first dyeing the fibres with metal-contng. dyes and then irradiating them with ionising radiation in presence of a silicone resin. Any metal-contng. dye can be used but those contng. metal in the form of a complex salt are preferred. e.g. azo or phthalocyanine dyes. Cotton cloth is dyed with Cu complex diazo dye ("Solar Rubinoid B") and then treated with 5% silicone The cltoh is then irradiate with C060 gamma rays (5.2 Mrad). 98% of the silicon is grafted onto the cloth. |
