1278604 Rotary-piston I.C. engines KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A G 28 Aug 1969 [7 Sept 1968] 42965/69 Heading F1F A trochoidal-type I.C. engine has its piston 1 rotatively mounted upon an eccentric 2 fixed to a rotary shaft 3, the motion of the piston being controlled by gears 8, 9 within a chamber 10, which is sealed relative to an admission passage 5 for working fluid by annular discs 11, 12 attached to the piston in close proximity with the walls 13 of a stationary annular chamber 14 to which a pressurized gas e.g. air, is supplied through a duct 15. A partition 16 prevents leakage of gas from the chamber 14 into the passage 5. Oil escaping from the gears is directed into either an outlet 20 by blades 17 on the disc 11 or a bearing 7 by an impeller wheel 18.
