Zusammenfassung: | 1,195,804. Colour television tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 30 May, 1968 [2 June, 1967], No. 25964/68. Heading H1D. A shadow mask or a post-deflection focusing grid is supported in a cathode-ray tube by a plurality of supports secured to the periphery and provided with resilient portions which press against opposite parts of the side walls of cavities provided in thickened wall portions of the envelope. Fig. 4 shows a shadow mask with a support 8 terminating in a pin 9 having resilient portions 10 which are a tight fit in a cylindrical (Fig. 2, not shown) or U-shaped (Fig. 3, not shown) cavity in the envelope. When the mask is to be permanently fixed, a tapered expansion screw may be screwed into the pin 9, or the glaze used to seal the cone to the face-plate may be used to fix the pin in the cavity. Two of the supporting pins may be extended in the opposite direction from their associated cavities, the protruding ends being used to centre the cone when it is joined to the face-plate so that external jigs are not required (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown). In another type of support (Fig. 1, not shown), the edges of a rectangular support strip are extended to press against the sides of a U-shaped cavity. |
