A thermoplastic moulding composition comprises a mixture of (a) a linear saturated polyester of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a dihydric alcohol and (b) from 0À05 to 20% by weight of the mixture of a copolymer of styrene or an alkyl styrene and a conjugated aliphatic diene. The copolymer preferably has a molecular weight of at least 10,000 and it may be a random, block or graft copolymer. The composition may also contain a nucleating agent, e.g. aluminium silicate of particle size less than 2Á, calcium carbonate or talc. The granulated composition may be coated with paraffin wax or other wax. Specified polyesters are polyethylene terephthalate which may be modified by a naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, adipic acid, 1 : 4-butanediol or neopentylene glycol and poly-(1 : 4-dimethylolcyclohexane terephthalate). The ingredients (a) and (b) may be mixed together in powder or molten form or granules of (a) may be treated with a solution of (b) and the solvent then evaporated. Examples disclose compositions of polyethylene terephthalate and styrene-butadiene copolymers.
