Zusammenfassung: | 1,226,045. Power-assisted steering mechanism. DANFOSS A.S. 26 Nov., 1968 [14 Dec., 1967], No. 56039/68. Heading B7H. [Also in Division F1] A controller for a hydrostatic steering system comprises a gerotor gear pump having an orbital gear 4 and a fixed gear-ring 3, a commutator valve formed by one face of the gear-ring 3 and the adjacent face 32 of a valve disc 5 which rotates with the orbital gear 4, and a steering motor control valve formed by the second face 39 of the valve disc 5 and the adjacent face 40 of another valve disc 6 which is rotated by an input shaft 11 and coupled to the valve disc 5 by lostmotion means permitting limited relative rotation in either direction from a neutral position. The input shaft 11 is connected to the valve disc 6 by splines 13. Pins 21 carried by the valve disc 5 engage at one end 24 in arcuate slots 25 in the valve disc 6 and at the other end 22 in holes 23 in the orbital gear 4. A spring 56 resists relative rotation of the valve discs 5, 6 from the neutral position. Inlet and outlet ports 14, 15 connected by a one-way ball valve 17 are formed in a housing cover 1, and motor ports 19, 20 are formed in a mounting flange 2. The inlet port 14 communicates through an annular groove 28a, annular passages 28 in the gear-ring 3 and annular passages 37 around the valve disc 5 with a cavity 48 surrounding the valve disc 6. The outlet port 15 communicates through central apertures 29, 38 in the orbital gear 4 and valve disc 5 with a circular recess 41 in the face 39 of the valve disc 6. Orifices 34 through the valve disc 5 have mouths 33 on the surface 32 which co-operate with the gear-ring 3 to supply fluid to the cavities 35 between the orbital gear 4 and the ring or discharge it therefrom. The face 39 of the valve disc 5 has formed therein bypass grooves 43 and longer grooves 42 extending radially outwardly from the recess 41. The longer grooves 42 extend between alternate mouths 44 formed by the orifices 34 in the face 39. The face 40 of the valve disc 6 has formed therein three sets of recesses 45, 46, 47. The recesses 45 communicate with the cavity 48 and have extending therefrom by-pass grooves 49 which overlap the by-pass grooves 43 in the neutral position. The recesses 46, 47 communicate through respective orifices 50, 53 and annular grooves 51, 54 with the motor ports 19, 20. When the valve discs 5, 6 are in the neutral position, fluid supplied at the inlet port 14 flows by way of the groove 28a, passages 28 and 37, |
