The compounds are prepared by reacting a 1-amino anthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid halide or a 1-amino anthraquinone-2-carboxylic ester which contains NO2 or halogen in the 4-position with an amine of the formula ANH2 and reacting the amide so formed with a compound of the formula RNH2.
