A preparation for combating pests (especially harmful insects, acarides, nematodes and micro-organisms, particularly phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria, as well as undesired plants) comprises, as active substance, a compound of the formula wherein X 1 and X 2 represent halogen atoms, X 3 represents H or a halogen atom, R represents OH or an alkyl residue having at most 18 carbon atoms which, if desired, be interrupted by one or several oxygen or sulphur atoms, a NH- or N-alkyl group, or may contain a heterocyclic structure e.g. a pyrrolidine, piperidine, morpholine, piperazine or cyclohexamethylenediamine residue, or wherein R represents an aryl or aralkyl residue which may be substituted by a halogen atom, CF 3 , NO 2 , CN, alkyl, alkoxy, SCN or tertiary amino group, together with a suitable carrier.
