A switching circuit comprising a switching transistor Q1 and two switched transistors Q2, Q3 with their emitter-collector paths connected in series, is provided with protective means R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 for ensuring equal steady state operating voltages, and further protective means C1, C2, C3 for ensuring safe transient voltage levels across the transistors. The necessary relationships between the time constants of the protective circuits and the load circuit time constant R L C L are derived.
