C. engine liquid fuel metering control apparatus comprises inlet manifold pressure responsive means displacing an arm 22 carrying a roller 23 which co-operates with a cam 29 to displace a member 27 controlling the fuel metering device (not shown), the cam being mounted on a mounting member 30 and adjustable between two positions to vary the magnitude of displacement of the member 27 and the cam and the mounting device being pivotable together to permit a temporary increase in the fuel supply. Operation: The inlet manifold pressure is communicated through inlet 11 to chamber 12 to act on diaphragm 13 which is loaded by springs 14, 15. Spring 15 acts against plate 17 and an adjustable stop 16, its diaphragm 13 collapses the springs 14, 15 collapse until plate 17 engages an adjustable stop 19. The diaphragm 13 is then only loaded by spring 14 until it engages an adjustable stop 20. Cam 29 is adjustably mounted by slots and screws 31, 33 on pivoted mounting plate 30 which is urged into engagement with an adjustable limit screw 34 by a spring 36. An external lever (not shown) is connected to the plate 30 at 35 and this may be connected to an automatic or manual cold starting device. Screw 34 may be automatically adjusted in dependence on engine or ambient pressure or temperature conditions.
