A thermosealable film comprises a polymeric film coated with a mixture of a vinylidene chloride/acrylic acid copolymer and chlorinated polypropylene. The polymeric film may comprise a polyolefin prepared with a stereospecific catalyst, e.g. isotactic polypropylene, polyester, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, or regenerated cellulose. The coating may be applied as a solution or dispersion in water or an organic solvent, examples of which are given, by spreading or immersion techniques. The coating, which may be from 0,5-20 microns thick, may be applied to one or both surfaces of the film. The film may be stretched in one or in two directions and the surface of the film may be subjected to surface treatment with electric discharges prior to coating. The copolymer may contain 80-95% vinylidene chloride, and the chlorinated polypropylene, which may constitute 5-95% by weight of the mixture, may have a chloride content of from 10-68%.
