A remanent relay has a permanent magnet armature 42 mounted on a rotatable disc 40 and movable between the poles of a remanent core 43 in dependence on the direction of the previous energization of its coil. In its two stable positions, the disc maintains one or more contact springs 45 in engagement with a respective fixed contact. The board 48 on which the components are mounted may be a printed circuit board.
