Zusammenfassung:	A process for the selective hydrogenation of pyrolysis gasoline or fractions thereof, comprises effecting the hydrogenation at temperatures below 100 DEG C. in the presence of supported noble metal catalysts which support consists wholly or in part of an aluminium spinel. The noble metal may be palladium and the spinel may be formed by impregnating alumina with a salt of cobalt, magnesium, zinc or lithium, and calcining.
