Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Hydrocarbons are isomerized in the presence of a Pt-Al2O3 catalyst activated in oxygen at 149-427 DEG C. with an organic chloride containing at least two carbon atoms and having an atomic ratio of hydrogen to chlorine less than 1.0. Typical isomerization conditions are:-Temp. 121 DEG to 204 DEG C.; L.H.S.V. 0.5 to 10; H2: hydrocarbon feed 0.05: 1 to 5: 1. Reference is made to the isomerization of paraffins such as butanes pentanes, hexanes and heptanes, naphthenes such as methyl cyclopentane, cyclohexane and dimethyl cyclopentane. Examples describe the isomerization of n-hexane to 2: 2 dimethylbutane. the catalyst is also described as being useful for alkylation and disproportionation reactions.ALSO:A Pt-Al2O3 catalyst is activated at 149 to 427 DEG C in the presence of oxygen with an organic chloride containing at least two carbon atoms and having an atomic ratio of hydrogen to chlorine less than 1.0. Details are given of the replacement of the OH1 groups on the surface of the Al2O3 by Cl1 ions. The catalyst may contain 3 - 12% chlorine. An example describes the deposition of 0.6% Pt on e -Al2O3 prior to chlorine action.
