Zusammenfassung:A 96% silica glass contains an addition of vanadium or molybdenum ions in amount between 0.03% and 0.3% by weight (calculated on a 1 mm. thickness of glass). The glass may be prepared according to Specification 533,053 and the porous glass produced impregnated with a solution of a vanadium or molybdenum salt, dried, and heated to a maximum temperature of 1250 DEG C. The glass may be used as the envelope of a lamp to filter out wavelengths between 300 and 360 millimicrons.
