Zusammenfassung: | 1,171,783. Vaccines containing dimethylsulphoxide. SCHERING A.G. 8 Nov., 1966 [10 Dec., 1965], No. 50010/66. Heading A5B. Vaccine compositions, for oral, cutaneous or musosal administration, comprise a vaccine in admixture with dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO). The compositions may take the form of a liquid for buccal administration or a liquidfilled capsule for oral use, or liquid suspension for use as a nasal spray or drops or for rectal application, or, together with a thickener (e.g. hydroxyethyl cellulose, high molecular weight carboxyvinyl polymers) may be an ointment or suppository. Vaccines mentioned are inactivated bacteria, viruses or fungi (including yeasts), or antigenic material therefrom; e.g. heat-inactivated Salmonella typhimurium and Salmonella schwarzengrund, formaldehyde-inactivated poliomyelitis virus, antigenic material from Mycobacterium tuberculosis H 37 Rv, Candida albicans and lipopolysaccharide antigen from Vibrio cholerae. The DMSO is said to render the skin or mucosa permeable to the antigen. |
