[Also in Divisions F2 and H2] In a rotary fluid-flow meter of the impulseturbine type, a rotor 102 (Figs. 1, 2 and 4, not shown) having radial blades 110 is attached to a rotatable shaft 112 which is supported by bearings 126, 128 and a permanent magnet 250, the shaft being connected to a register assembly 234 by worm and worm-wheel gears 140, 142, a sealed magnetic-coupling 182, dogs 238, 240 and reduction gearing 242. The bearings and the magnet are supported by a fixed central-core 34 which can be removed through a circular opening 94 provided in a tubular housing 22 and closed by plates 216, 228, the core being attached to the plate 216 by a non-magnetic tubular-partition 196 for sealing the coupling 182. The core 34 in combination with end cores 30, 32 defines a passage 81 of an annular crosssection for fluid, e.g. a gas, and has its ends sealed by plates 95, 96. The rotor may be made of moulded "Delrin" (Registered Trade Mark). A bracket assembly 252 renders the position of the magnet 250 adjustable relative to theshaft 112.
