Zusammenfassung: | The invention comprises compounds of the formula and the production of compounds of the formula where R is a 4,41-stilbene radical, A is an o-phenylene radical and X is 0 or 5, by heating HOOC-R-COOH with HX-A-NH2.(HCl)m (where m is 0 or 1) and a halogenating agent capable of converting COOH to acid halide, e.g. POCl3, to form an intermediate condensation product, and then refluxing to form the product. A solvent may be used, e.g. 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene. Both R and/or A may be substituted; many possible substituents are given. In examples, X is 0 or S and R and A are unsubstituted; and X is 0, R is unsubstituted, and A is phenyl-substituted. The products may be mixed with soaps or detergents for increasing fabric brightness or whiteness. |
