Zusammenfassung: | 1,098,327. Break-spinning apparatus. VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY USTI NAD ORLICI. Dec. 31, 1965, No. 55503/65. Headings D1D and D1F. In break-spinning, a reserve of yarn is maintained between the spinning-chamber and the take-off rollers, so that when the yarn breaks, enough yarn is available for an end to be sucked back to be reconnected automatically at the collecting-surface of the chamber and to maintain the yarn connexion between the chamber and the rollers, which continue to rotate. In Fig. 1, fibres are drawn through a tube 2 by reduced air pressure created by channels in a rotating spinning chamber 1. The spun yarn is drawn off by rollers 5 to be wound up at 6. Between the chamber 1 and rollers 5 the yarn is trained over pulleys 30, 7, the former being fixed and the latter carried by a lever 11a pivoted at 12. The pulley 7 is rotatably mounted on a rod 9 encircled by a spring 10 compressed between an adjustable nut 14 and the lever. A second arm of the lever 11 is engaged by a spring-urged latch 15 adapted to be released by a solenoid 17 in circuit with a signalling device 23 and contacts 19, 20. The rod 9 is held off contact 20 by the tension in the yarn; when the yarn breaks the tension is reduced, and the spring 10 causes the rod to close the contacts and energize the solenoid, whereby the latch is released and the lever lowered, so that the severed end is free to be sucked back in to the spinning chamber. As the chamber and the rollers are still rotating, spinning is automatically restarted. The lever is restored to working position by a finger projecting from a worm-gear which can engage a third arm of the lever. In another form, a longer reserve of yarn is established by passing the yarn over two fixed pulleys and two pulleys on the lever. In Fig. 4, there is provision for the automatic repair of three successive breaks; at the third break a signal is illuminated for the operator to reset the parts. The yarn reserve is established between a fixed guide-eye 55 and two U-shaped yarn guides 36, 37, the latter being pivotally mounted and the former carried by a leaf-spring 38 connected to the guide 37. The guide 37 rests on the uppermost of a series of steps on a slidable plate 45. When a yarn breaks, guide 36 is freed to be raised by spring 38 and close contacts 44, 43 to energize a pivotally-mounted solenoid 50. A spring- urged core is thus attracted which is in engagement with the first of three pins on the plate so that the plate is retracted a |
