Zusammenfassung: | 995,592. Twisting wires together. ROBERT BOSCH, G.m.b.H. Aug. 21, 1963 [Aug. 22, 1962], No. 33029/63. Heading B3E. A motor-driven wire binding appliances for looping wires about reinforcing rod for concrete structures is characterized in that a pair of wires necessary to form the loop are cut from a supply and their ends twisted together by two driven, spaced-apart, axially aligned twisting tools, each tool having two clamping jaws, each of which grips one of the wires, the wires being guided along channels arranged on opposite sides of the rods to advance between the jaws of the first twisting tool, pass around the reinforcing rods to be wired together, and then enter the jaws of the second twisting tool. Wires 25, 26 from reels, Fig. 1 (not shown), mounted on the appliance are fed by intermittently driven pulley members 90, 91 having notched grooves which cooperate with rollers (not shown) through guides 23, 24, through jaws 17, 18 in an upper twisting tool 14, past reinforcing rods 28, 27 and into semi-conical guide pockets 29, 30 at the ends of clamping jaws 19, 20 of a lower twisting tool 15. The upper tool 14 is adjustable to and from the tool 15, being locked in position by a clamping screw 33. The tools 14, 15 are rotated by a shaft 16 to twist the wires 25, 26 together above and below the rods 28, 27, the wires being severed from their supply by the co-operation of bores 38, 39 in the rotation tool 14 with bores in a non-rotating plate 37. To start the operation a switch 40 is actuated to switch on an electric motor, to lift a dog 42 free from a disc 45 fixed on a cam-shaft 5 and to clutch a gear 48, driven from the motor drive shaft 50 through gearing (not shown) to the disc 45 and rotate the shaft 5 for one revolution. A gear 58 splined on a shaft 11 is also driven from the shaft 50. The shaft 5 carries a camplate 66 with cam surfaces 67, 68 which engage pins 76, 77 on a member 79 to engage and disengage a coupling 60 in the drive to the twister shaft 16, a pin 96 on the member 79 engaging a bore 97 in the coupling 60 to stop the twister in the correct position. The shaft 5 also carries a cam 75 rotationally adjustable relative to the cam 66 by moving a sleeve 71 longitudinally, by a handle 73, a ball 70 carried by the sleeve engaging a longitudinal slot in the cam 75 and an oblique slot in the hub of the cam 66. The cam 66 engages a pin 78 to move the member 79 to engage a coupling 61 in the drive to the wire feed pulleys 90, 91. |
