Zusammenfassung:	The terminal groups of polyoxymethylene diols are modified with epoxides in the presence of compounds containing labile halogen. Specified epoxides are propylene oxide, epichlorohydrin, styrene oxide and phenyl glycidyl ethers -compounds with more than one epoxide group per molecule may also be employed, e.g. butanediol diglycidyl ether. Labile halogen compounds specified are triphenyl methyl chloride (particularly advantageous), alphachloromethyl ether, acetyl chloride, benzoyl chloride and chloroformic acid ethyl ester. The reaction may take place in the presence or absence of an inert medium at from 50 DEG to 240 DEG C.
