A corrugated bellows of polytetrafluoroethylene is formed by placing a sintered extruded tube in a longitudinally split mould, gripping the ends by screw-threaded plugs 40, 60, heating the central part of the tube by a flame or a jacket, and then supplying air or inert gas under pressure through a passage 64 to blow the tube into contact with the mould. The mould is then immersed in a water bath, and after cooling, the moulded bellows removed. The mould may have a pressure relief valve.
